The free demo lets you fight Gonzo (we won’t reveal more to avoid spoilers), giving you a taste of the game. You’ll be able to continue playing with your character and progress in the full game if you decide to buy it.
Team Ninja announced the free demo earlier this week, as part of a blog post detailing some gameplay data from around the world since the game launched on PlayStation 5 in March. If you’re curious about the data, I’ll share some of the stats below, though be aware of potential spoilers.
Team Ninja revealed that 35% of players killed Gonzo, while 65% spared him. In terms of factions, 62% of players sided with the Shogunate, while the remaining 38% sided with the Anti-Shogunate.
In terms of romance, only 30% of players started a romance, but 42% of players reached level 4 relationships. Additionally, an impressive 1,925,232,468 counterattacks have been performed since the game’s release in March.
Most players – 51% – chose to play Rise of the Ronin on the ‘Dusk’ difficulty. 36% of players chose the ‘Dawn’ difficulty, 13% chose the ‘Twilight’ difficulty, and 18% chose the ‘Midnight’ difficulty.
To round out today’s player stats, Team Ninja revealed that 16% of Rise of the Ronin players have collected 100 cats (I’m sure they’re happy about that) and 35% of players have defeated 50 fugitives.
To match these numbers, PlayStation has released a new trailer for Rise of the Ronin, detailing the latest stats. You can watch it for yourself above.
